	Student Services
	The Department of Student Services is committed to supporting the educational achievement of all children. Each department within Student Services is designed to assist in creating a positive learning environment conducive to safe and academic growth, social and emotional development. Student Services Includes: Community Schools, Drop Out Prevention, Emergency Response, Health, H1N1, Homebound, Lions Quest, Maricopa County Tobacco Use Prevention Program, Nutritional Services, Right to be Educated, Safe Schools, School Resource Officers and Section 504 Other Specialized Programs outside of Student Services Includes: CTE, Curriculum and Instruction, Foreign Language Immersion, Gifted, Hearing, IB, Nutritional Services, Pre-schools, Service Learning, Sierra Vista Academy, Special Education and Student Experience.

Student Services

Community Schools programs offers an environment in which children have the opportunity to learn, grow and enjoy being a child.	Drop Out Prevention Through this program, additional supports have been put in place to assist students who are at high–risk of dropout.	Emergency Response Plan	Health The promotion and protection of individual, family and community health.

H1N1 Update You play an important role in how the flu will affect our school.	Homebound Provides education to students who cannot attend school due to an acute illness, disease, accident or other health condition for 60 school days or more.	Lions-Quest A K-12 comprehensive youth development curriculum.	Maricopa County Tobacco Use Prevention Program (MACTUPP) Provides leadership, direction and education to to create tobacco-free environments for 4th-8th grade students)

Right to be Educated The Stewart B. McKinney-Vento Homeless Student Assistance Act protects the rights of all homeless students.	Safe Schools SUSD and Scottsdale Police Department Work Together to Ensure Traffic Safety for the Start of School.	School Resource Officers create safer school campuses and create more cooperation between officers and young people.	Section 504 Section 504 assures that disabled students have educational opportunities and benefits equal to those provided to non-disabled students.

Other Specialized Programs Outside of Student Services

Career & Technical Education Providing students the opportunity to explore careers while in school.	Curriculum and Instruction Departments, Concept Maps, Benchmark Testing, testing and calendars.	Foreign Language Immersion (FLI) program at Pueblo Elementary School.	Gifted Services for students who require differentiated educational programs.

Hearing Impaired Program Offers education services to students with hearing impairments.	International Baccalaureate (IB) A rigorous academic program for juniors and seniors at Desert Mountain High School.	Nutritional Services Breakfast, Lunch, After School Services, myLunchMoney.com (online payments) and Nutritional News.	Pre-schools Includes Community School Pre-school and PreK, PANDA and Pre-school Academy

Service Learning Combines service to the community with classroom studies.	Sierra Vista Academy Alternative education for students from 6th to 12th grades.	Special Education Special Education Services and Programs for disabled students.	Student Experience Account access for students in grades 9-12.
